Elton Brand Experiment 1 Month, 1 Week ago  Mojo:
Does anyone know what happened to the 20-10 Elton Brand we've grown accustomed to over the years? I saw big things when he came to Philadelphia with the opportunity to team up with rising star Andre Iguodola along with Lou Williams, but it simply hasn't worked. Whether it's the injury bug or the miles on his body or the system he's in, Brand has not performed up to his all star potential. He is too young to be on the decline, so it has to be the system I would think. Unless he's just lost his talent in a Spacejamesque scenario. What do you guys think?

Elton Brand is far from the player he once was. Since his injury he has lost his ability to jump high and being an undersized power forward you have to be able top soar to grab boards. It is slightly the system he is in as well because Philly runs up and down the court while he needs a slower paced half court offense to get going. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good but he will never be the 20 and 10 guy again.

If anything his time with the Clippers probably traumatized him. I can't blame him if that is the case. The 76ers have a glut at the backcourt and playing time has been inconsistent for all of them. I agree though I think a change of scenery is necessary.

Yeah if he went to a place with a slow tempo offense he would flourish again. I don't think he is the same guy he use to be because of age, attrition and injuries, but he can still be a solid contributor somewhere else. If he didn't have such a huge contract the sixers could actually entertain the idea of trading him.

I can't help but wonder what the 76ers could with a vintage Brand. They have been playing well of late behind Andre Iguodola and Lou Williams. The front court has several solid players, but with the Elton Brand of old they could potentially be a force in the East. Wake up Elton Brand. It's time to rise.
