SNY 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago  Mojo:
This may be biased, but I think that the Mets broadcast group is one of the best in baseball. Gary Cohen is a solid play-by-play who can contain himself unlike another New York announcer. Ron Darling in my opinion is one of the best if not the best analysts. Keith Hernandez we can do without, but he will make an amusing comment here and there. What do you guys think?

While I can appreciate the passion Kay brings to the Yankees, I find him ridiculous at times. Nothing supports this better than the Yankee-Met game when Luis Castillo dropped the ball. I don't remember such skewed announcing. He made it out to be as if A-Rod was the hero.

I agree they are better than Kay and Singleton, and they are SO much better than the days of Ralph Kiner, and I don't even remember who else, because Kiner was so awful. Best? I don't know about that. Though I guess they won the award for that, so who can argue?

I hate to parrot what everyone else says, but it is true that SNY is better in game and the YES network is better everywhere else. Darling is really good and in the limited time I heard him when he was a Nationals announcer, I wasn't that impressed. Now I think he is the best play by play in baseball period, not only here in New York. Cohen was better on radio, but he is perfectly fine on television. Hernandez is very good, but would be great if he followed the rest of baseball closely.
